Kameron and I reside on a small farm and we absolutely love it here! One thing we love the most is having all of our animals right here with us. Most of our animals are strays and they are all great companions. Here are a few pics of the Walker Farm residents:
Buddy, Sampson, and Crickett
Buddy is a stray that we found in the middle of the highway. He was skinny and sad. He has the funniest personality and gets along great with the other wiener dogs. Sampson was a Christmas gift from me to Kameron the first year we were married. We are thinking he will be Campbell's best friend because he constantly has his head on my belly and hangs out in the nursery a lot. Crickett is the old girl of the group. She is eight years old and is the first dog I got when I moved out on my own after graduating from college. She is tiny, quiet and cuddly!
Stray is on the left and has been a long time companion of Kameron's. Kameron found him about 10 years ago, wandering around his house. He had sores around his neck from being chained up and would try to bite you if you touched him. Kameron worked with him a whole summer gaining his trust. Now he rarely leaves Kameron's side and is a great guard dog. Pax is on the right. He is our quite unique, 3-legged dog. What can I say...he is so ugly that it makes him cute!

Our Yellow Labs: Holly and Ginger. Holly showed up on Christmas Eve this last year without a collar or tags. We could not find her owners, so she is our latest addition. Ginger was left with us by our neighbor when he moved and could not take her. She and Holly have become the best of friends.

Poco is Kameron's old roping horse. He will be 22 years old on February 27th! He is our "kid horse" and loves to take the little ones for rides.

This is Reilly. I raised her from a foal and she is 11 years old. She has lots of spirit and is great fun to ride.

Skeeter...bless her heart...has been through a lot. We rescued her from the Humane Society a few years ago. She was scared of everything when we got her, but she came around quickly and began to trust us. Since she was so malnourished, she has had some joint problems and recently suffered a fracture in her back leg. She is doing much better now and we are just happy to have her around to love on!

This is Kameron's pride and joy, Lefty. He is a team roping horse and is a blast to ride. He has lots of get up and go and is soooo much fun to ride. He loves to prance and show off his stuff!

Tux is our "garage cat". I found him as a kitten at my apartment complex before Kameron and I got married. He keeps the mice away...most of the time! We have several barn cats too...they keep the barn free of creepy, crawly critters.

Kameron practices roping the dummy after feeding all of the animals. He has been a trooper while I have been pregnant and takes care of the animals most of the time now. I have missed riding and messing with the horses for the last 8 months and am eager to get back to it soon. We'll see if I can make time for the horses with a new baby in tow...we'll figure something out I'm sure!
I had no idea you had sooo many fur babies. People give me grief about my 3 dogs. That is nothing compared to you guys. Charlie's favorite dog is Freckles. He loves that dog and she just makes him smile.
ReplyDeleteGood Heavens - it does look like a lot when they are all grouped together in one post. I was wondering when I scrolled down if you were including Kameron in the pet population. Ü
ReplyDeleteYou need to share some Buddy stories. He is one funny dog!
You have animals coming out your wazoo!! Must be lots of fun! I'm at Mom's, but can't wait to post a picture of our pony!
ReplyDeleteCampbell's pictures are so cute, I know ya'll are excited!
Brooke wants a puppy so bad and my first suggestion was a weiner dog. We want a lap dog like Crickett (She's such a cutie), Jeff's not so convinced but I am sure it will soon become "his dog". Your animals are priceless and look forward to lots of stories about Samson and the baby. You remember my red bordercollie, Cy? When I was pregnant with Brooke, I took lots of naps around 6:00 to 7:00 on the couch (after work) & Cy would sleep right beside me. If not w/ me, we would find him under the Crib sleeping. Anytime Brooke would be in her highchair, he would lay underneath her. I think it was because she would throw or drop food and he'd feel like he was getting special snacks! I miss that boy!
